The open savannah landscapes of central Namibia give way to greener vegetation, towering trees, traditional villages, and fertile farmlands. Along the route, you will gain a fascinating glimpse into everyday life in northern Namibia as local communities, cattle posts, and colourful roadside markets become part of the landscape.  The drive offers a wonderful contrast to the previous day's scenery, showcasing the remarkable diversity of Namibia's natural environments. As you approach the mighty Okavango River, the atmosphere becomes increasingly tropical, with riverine forests and waterways creating a lush oasis in this otherwise arid country.  Upon arrival at your lodge, there will be time to settle into your comfortable surroundings and enjoy the peaceful river setting.

Wake up to the gentle sounds of the African bush and board a comfortable boat for one of the most memorable experiences in the Zambezi region. The river is still and peaceful, disturbed only by the gentle wake of the boat and the distant calls of fish eagles welcoming a new African day. A delicious breakfast is served on board, allowing guests to savor fresh flavors while surrounded by one of Namibia’s most beautiful wilderness settings. Every bend in the river reveals a new scene: a crocodile basking on a sandbank, a herd of antelope coming down to drink, or buffalo grazing in the distance across the water.

In the late afternoon, you embark on the next wildlife experience. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will set out on a guided game drive in specially designed safari vehicles, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of this remarkable wilderness. As you travel through the park, your guide will share fascinating insights into the area's flora, fauna, and unique ecosystem.  The permanent water supplied by the Okavango River attracts a rich variety of animals, making Mahangu one of the best places in Namibia to encounter animals. Keep your camera ready as you search for large herds of buffalo, majestic elephants, elegant antelope species, and an abundance of birdlife.  The park is particularly famous for its populations of red lechwe, often seen gracefully moving through the floodplains, as well as the striking sable antelope and the rare roan antelope, both considered highlights for wildlife enthusiasts.  Throughout the drive, there will be opportunities to stop at scenic viewpoints, enjoy the tranquil surroundings, and appreciate the extraordinary beauty of this unique corner of Namibia.

Nestled on the edge of a permanent water channel, the lodge offers spectacular views across the wetlands and provides the perfect opportunity to slow down and absorb the tranquil atmosphere of the Delta.
